Ashby-de-la-Zouch, UK – August 7, 2008. Leading energy and building management provider TAC, has launched a poster competition to encourage the next generation of school children nationwide to consider what our world will look like in 2050 if we continue to waste energy.

The poster competition, called ‘Energy Impact 2050’ is aimed at both primary and secondary school children. It asks children to design a poster that encourages their peers to think about the consequences of what will happen to their environment if they do not start conserving energy now.

TAC is launching Energy Impact 2050 to help raise awareness to businesses, parents, teachers and school children of energy-saving initiatives. With the serious message of ‘Future Social Responsibility’ TAC believes that energy conservation must start with school children via our education system. The poster competition is just the start of the awareness campaign.

Richard Strode from TAC, comments: “Energy management is becoming a critical consideration for businesses and the issue must be addressed by everyone, from members of the boardroom to our children in the classroom.

“That’s why we have decided to launch this competition, to gauge the interest of the future generations of energy engineers, consultants and managers so we can see what they understand about energy and the importance that their impact will have on their environment in the future.”

The poster competition will give nearly 90,000 children a chance to take part and design a poster to talk about energy impacts in the future.
