TAC Announces Integration of Pelco Digital Video Technology with TAC Vista™ Building Management System MALMÖ, Sweden - June 24, 2008. TAC, a leading provider of open, integrated systems for building automation, has announced the successful integration of TAC Vista 5.1, the latest version of its Vista building management system, with Pelco’s Integral Digital Sentry Series of digital video recording systems. Both Pelco and TAC are subsidiaries of Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management. "There is a powerful, technical, and commercial logic to this development. We have a significant and growing presence in the security market, and our users can now benefit from Pelco’s market-leading analog and digital video management expertise. Our LON-based open systems architecture is perfectly suited to this purpose," said Rolf Olsson, Director of Product Management for TAC. Benefits of the Pelco/Vista Integration include: • Single screen – Users no longer need to consult multiple screens. Building automation and video security data and alarms are presented on a single screen, simplifying the task of interpreting events and reacting to them. Less training is required, and better-informed decisions can be made, helping to create a safer work environment. • Full integration – The combined functionality of TAC Vista and Pelco video is more valuable than using the two as separate systems. Data from the HVAC system can control video recording, while alarms and other information from the video system are collected in the same database and can influence the control systems in the building. • Full use of TAC Vista functionality – Existing user operations, alarm routing and handling, data logging, navigation, and other tasks use TAC Vista’s familiar, existing functionality. Similarly, existing time and holiday scheduling is used (avoiding unnecessary duplication), and the method of viewing events and system history is retained. • Electronic Access Control – TAC Vista already has electronic access control as an integrated function. The addition of video security further enhances the overall security capability of the system. • Microsoft Windows – TAC Vista 5.1 is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista.
